Ivan Garcia

Undergraduate Grand Board of Directors

Ivan Garcia, a Las Vegas native.  He was initiated at the Illinois State University Chapter, the Kappa Alpha of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He serves his chapter by coordinating community service opportunities, and social and developmental programs.  Ivan is an involved student leader on campus serving in several different organizations. He is the President of the Black and Latino Male Movement, Resident Assistant for University Housing Services, Junior Representative on the Student Advisory Board, and as a Mentor for the M.A.S.A.I. Mentoring Program.

Ivan is a junior at Illinois State University majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders, focusing on the Speech Pathology aspect of the program. Post-graduation, Ivan plans on attending graduate school to earn his Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology and work with patients who have suffered from a stroke and have lost the ability to produce speech, comprehend speech or have difficulty with their swallowing.

Ivan has maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout his college career. He has been on the dean’s list for 3 consecutive years, and was awarded the only Laurine Reiske Scholarship, and was nominated for the Robert G. Bone Scholarship, which is the highest honor one can receive at Illinois State University.
