Philadelphia, PA, August 14, 2011 - William "Randy" Bates, Jr., Esq., the Grand Polemarch (President and CEO) of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., announced today that a mutual and amicable decision has been made to seek another Executive Director/COO. After speaking with Richard Lee Snow, who has served successfully in this capacity for more than thirteen years, it was agreed that given the new direction the 32nd Administration is going, it would be best to change the leadership in the International Headquarters Office. This decision is effective immediately.
According to Grand Polemarch Bates, "Snow has provided immeasurable service to the Fraternity, as well as other national organizations that he has been involved with." However, in lieu of the changes that are being made organizationally, Bates has sought leadership throughout the Fraternity that he believes is new and fresh for the challenges the Fraternity will be facing in its second century. He is seeking professional growth of the organization and a team of appointees who can raise the organization to a new and progressive paradigm.
Richard Snow has agreed to continue providing advice and counsel on issues that may come up during the interim that a national search for his permanent successor is conducted.
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity is grateful for the service Richard Lee Snow has provided; he has been a positive example for Executive Directors throughout Greek Lettered Organizations, and he is a brother we all are proud of.
Effective immediately, Spencer Bruce, Deputy Executive Director and Chief of Staff, will serve as Acting Executive Director pending completion of the national search for the permanent Executive Director.
