Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, represented by Jersey City Alumni, New Brunswick Alumni, Montclair Alumni, Bronx Alumni and Brooklyn-Long Island Alumni’s Guide Right programs, will participate in the second annual Student Town Hall forum of the NBC News Education Nation Summit .
The Student Town Hall will air on MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM ET Sunday, October 6th at The New York Public Library’s Stephen A. Schwarzman building in midtown Manhattan. In addition, the National Broadcast Corporation has once again extended streaming right to Kappa Alpha Psi and the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation. The event will stream live for the Fraternity and public from the Kappa Foundation website www.theKappaFoundation.org and the National Kappa League site www.natlkappaleague.org
With more than 20 Kappa Leaguers representing the metropolitan area present, Melissa Harris-Perry will moderate a discussion of 300 students about performance, the new Common Core State Standards, safety, student mobilization, technology in the classroom, and a variety of other topics. NBC will be posting questions to their Facebook page and Twitter leading up to the Student Town Hall. Responses to the questions will shape and guide parts of the discussion.
In support of the discussion surrounding education, we are encouraging all Brothers to view the live stream broadcast and forward to their students in Guide Right and Kappa League as well as to the general public. We also ask all to participate in the conversations on Twitter with the #EducationNation and #GuideRight during the streaming.
